Vic’s Supper Club & the Ranch House
By Buddy Paulsen

The three men seemed to be on a mission. Larry D Hudson was doing what he did best...music. His gigs were lined up one night after another in Denver, Colorado. This evening was the Holiday Inn during the stock show and standing in front of him were three gentlemen but one in particular stood out. He had a big cowboy hat and an even bigger personality. He also could talk a blue streak. His named was Dale and with him were two gentlemen named Lyle Roudebush and Clinton Gade. Dale was determined that Larry move to a little town called Lewellen Nebraska. He obviously loved the place and continued to work on Larry enticing him with hunting, great fishing and a gig every night. Larry listened as Dale told him about his ranch. “Grace,” something or other… and the other cowboy, Mr. Gade, was also a rancher in those parts. The Roudebush guy ran a gas station in a neighboring town. At the end of the night, this colorful figure had nearly talked Larry into moving lock, stock, and barrel.
